Open Access Free Journals

Often research scholars get confused with open access and free journals as some open access journals will mention as open access free journals. Open Access is a common concept that means the journal articles that are covered by it will be freely available for reading, downloading, and reusing in accordance with the journal's licensing terms. Only publications that provide free access to read and download papers for everyone should be considered open-access journals neither a subscription charge nor an access fee. Research scholars should not be confused with open-access free journals, whose sole article is available freely based on the open access model, as the word "open access" is self-explanatory that the article will be available freely. The researchers are confused when the word "Free journal" is used for publications where only published articles are freely available, and they may believe that it refers to an unpaid journal.
Many PhD candidates talk about their experiences with journals that were intended to be free but then sent a charge after approval. Publishers emphasize those journals as being free rather than open access, which causes authors to not read the complete terms and conditions for publishing and fall victim to traps. The proper terms "Free Journals" for free publication and "Open Access" for free article access should not be used by journal publishers due to marketing strategies in order to prevent confusion and author entrapment. The phrase "Free Open access journals" or a variant should only be used when the publication is also freely available, but they won't because they want to draw in authors. Ph.D. scholars that require quick publishing will select these types of journals since they offer acceptance and publication rapidly within a few months after submission, however owing to a lack of time, the candidate will be forced to pay an Article processing fee to the journals. If a scholar does not want to pay the APC they should choose the right consultant at the beginning of their research work.

Open Access International Journals

A journal is considered to be an open-access journal if readers can access its material for free. This offers free journal articles to academics, learners, and researchers. Alternative funding strategies are used by open-access journals to pay for publication costs, allowing articles to be published without having to charge readers for the privilege. Standard fundraising strategies include government sponsorship, author payment, and advertising, a model where the author pays a fee to publish in the journals which are some of the funding sources.
The primary focus of Open Access journals is peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles, however, there are Open Access journals that publish non-peer-reviewed academic material as well as journals that concentrate on thesis, conference papers, and dissertations. There is no need for a library card from the university to access the research articles because the internet has already made it simple to access research publications, and scientific articles and, open access journals remove financial barriers to academic content, which is another step in that direction. Before choosing a particular journal, every research scholar should speak with a research expert since a scholar who is new to the research world might not be familiar with terms like SCI Journals, SCOPUS journals, IEEE journals, paid journal, unpaid journal, phony journal, open access journal, journal impact factors, Q category, and so on. The GoToppr team will mentor each scholar and feed them with the information they need to understand the journals.

Unpaid SCI, SCOPUS, and IEEE Journals

Unpaid journals are publications that don't charge writers a fee to get their work published in them. Since there may be several steps of review, unpaid journals may take longer to accept papers for publication. The author must revise the article as necessary and resubmit it before the deadline based on the reviewer's recommendations. In unpaid journals, SCI articles often take 14 months to be accepted, whereas SCOPUS articles typically take 8 months. In other cases, the initial review may come 6 months after submission. An author needs to be very patient in order to submit an article to an unpaid journal because the unpaid journal solely considers the content's scientific worth. The paper must be highly innovative and of excellent quality; otherwise, the journal will reject the material even before it is submitted for peer review.

Review procedure in Unpaid Journal

Each reviewer has their own style for reviewing. The strategy here explained assists in promoting excellent quality research which will increase the knowledge and comprehension of the readers and that will be the ultimate purpose of reviewing unpaid journals. The most common review procedure will be as follows
  1. Read the summary.
  2. Look up the references
  3. Examine the graphs and tables.
  4. See the introduction.
  5. Read the approach
  6. Study the Discussion
  7. Parsimony rule
